   – Greathouse is somewhat subject to the vagaries of the scheme, play's defensive makeup, and whether someone who is more open due to simply being more evasive. Not worried about his, but look to see this weekend as a case where they try to get a few more in his hands.

   – All respect to @thomasporter3239, and while I am not quite as venerable (I was a senior graduating from high school in 1977) but I hate green days. In recent history we haven't played well in them, and to me, its just not as attractive to me. While this could be improved with a better designed jersey, generally I don't care about them…

10. As it relates to CJ Carr not being able to grip the ball in the rain…instead of a deep dive into it, could it possibly be that he simply has small hands in comparison to the Tar Heels QB. Dr. J and Michael Jordan famously had humongous hands compared to someone like say Kobe Bryant

12. Old fogey alum here. Favorite green jersey game has to be 1977 USC game. Hadn’t worn green for a decade because Ara didn’t like them. Practiced in blue & gold just before game. Went back to the locker room and came out in green just before kickoff. Crowd went crazy. Won 49 to 19 and went on to win national championship.

13. Oddly enough, there was a rumor going around before the 2006 Fiesta Bowl that ND was going to wear black jerseys.

    I think the best-looking green jerseys were 2005 USC (unfortunately a loss), 1977 USC and 2023 Ohio State (unfortunately another loss). What I did not like were the green jerseys with white pants against 2024 Louisville. Something about that combo looked kind of weak.

    And yes, the green jerseys are best when they’re a surprise.

15. I’m not concerned with the final score as much as I am about if they’re able to build off last weeks offensive performance. If they’re play solid fundamental football this game will be another easy win. Also they need to get through this game with no major injuries.

25. Part of the problem with the receivers is the receiver coach and dembrock

26. Fun fact that die hards will know and casuals will appreciate:
    The green jerseys were first created by Knute Rockne, who among many other great things revolutionized the forward pass, how to throw the football, and how to execute it effectively.
    His idea was that he would put his receivers in bright green jerseys so it would be easier for the Quarterback to see them and differentiate them from the opposing team.

    How do you feel about Adon Schuler’s constant ab exposure?
    Personally I think it looks trashy and Freeman shouldn’t allow it in games (it’s fine in practice).
    I went to the same all boys boarding high school that Armel Mukam, Greer Martini, and CJ Prosise came from (I played with the latter 2, CJ was a year older, Greer was a year younger), and our coach had that traditionalist mentality Freeman has and ran our practices like college practices, didn’t endorse names on the jerseys even tho we could easily afford it, and then he also wouldn’t allow any of that individual vanity to be shown on game day.
    We dressed like we played, as a team.

32. Our uniforms would be the best in the sport if we didn’t have those cheap looking yellow mustard pants, that look even worse when the lineman immediately sweat through them

    To me, the #1 problem with the uniforms that need to be fixed asap, are the color of the pants.
    I get it for the old teams, before technology advanced and we brought out the metallic gold helmets, but in 2026, their “Gold” pants just look like pee yellow mustard compared to the helmets. Even the pants under Adidas were more gold than these yellow monstrosities.
    I know for a 100% fact Notre Dame has the resources and access to technology that would make their yellow pants look somewhat like gold.
    We have the best helmet in the sport, and some of the best jerseys.
    Yet our pants wouldn’t pass as gold in a pee wee flag football game

35. Denbrocj dialed up more explosive passes with Tori hunter jr Chris brown Amir Carlisle than he has with these WRs he also used that whole wr group in games . I even remember onwualu catching passes why doesn’t he scheme to get these bench guys more balls it’s really not hard

37. Silver lining on Johnson might be that because of how much time he is missing, he could be back next year. We could have another extremely good secondary once again next year.

38. I like what you're getting at with the first 5 games were trying things. I also think that this 6th game might continue to be more of that. But BYU will be all systems go. Just my opinion. I certainly could be wrong.

42. Who cares what anyone says. ND has had a ton of injuries no one felt sorry for them the last few yrs. The Byu RB is a good player but he isn't Barry Sanders. No one has run the ball well against ND regardless of who was in the backfield the last few yrs
